1/2 cup flour unsifted
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
3 tbl butter or margarine softene
1/4 cup sugar
1 x egg separated
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp orange peel grated
1 tbl orange juice or whiskey
Instructions:
Instructions: Sift the dry ingredients together. Set
aside. 2. In medium bowl, using electric mixer, beat butter with sugar and egg until light and fluffy. Add the flavorings and mix to combine well. 3. Add half of the flour mixture. With wooden spoon, beat until well blended. Add remaining flour and mix with your hands until the dough leaves the side of the bowl and holds together. 4. Turn out onto a board and knead several times to blend well. Cover and set aside until ready to use. 5. When ready, divide the dough into 2 parts. Roll the bottom crust between sheets of waxed paper into an 11-inch circle. Remove top paper and fit crust into a 9-inch pie plate, being careful not to stretch the dough. Remove paper. 6. Brush crust generously with egg white.
