Ingredients:
Amount Ingredient
4 x 8 oz fresh Bartlett pears, peeled
cored and halved
(reserve peels and cores)
Cool water as needed
1/2 x lemon, Juice of
1/2 qt water
2 whl cloves
1 x 1 inch piece cinnamon stick
1/4 cup brown sugar
Hot Fudge Sauce

Instructions: MAKES 4 SERVINGS. VEGAN

Submerge pears in enough cool water to cover; add lemon juice to prevent pears

Place reserved pear peels and cores, and water in a large saucepan. Add cloves and cinnamon stick. Bring to boil: simmer 30 minutes. Strain; return liquid to saucepan. Add sugar; bring to boil and remove from heat. Add pears, return to heat and poach until tender, about 25 minutes. Remove pears from heat: drain and cool. Serve with Hot Fudge Sauce.

Makes 4 servings.
