Submerge pears in enough cool water to cover; add lemon juice to prevent pears Place reserved pear peels and cores, and water in a large saucepan. Add cloves and cinnamon stick. Bring to boil: simmer 30 minutes. Strain; return liquid to saucepan. Add sugar; bring to boil and remove from heat. Add pears, return to heat and poach until tender, about 25 minutes. Remove pears from heat: drain and cool. Serve with Hot Fudge Sauce. Makes 4 servings. Email this Recipe:
