1 tsp kuzu or arrowroot - (heaping)
1/2 cup apple juice
2 lb firm pears Bosc or Bartlett
1/2 cup cranberries
2 tbl maple syrup - (to 3 tbspns)
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 tsp fresh ginger juice
1 pch salt
----------------- TOPPING ----------------
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup flour
1 cup chopped pecans
1/3 cup canola oil
1/3 cup maple syrup
1 tsp vanilla
Instructions:
Instructions: Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Dissolve kuzu or arrowroot in apple juice. Slice pears and toss with other filling ingredients. Fill baking dish, combine topping ingredients and sprinkle on top of pears.

Cover with foil, bake for 40 minutes, uncover and bake for another 15 minutes or until topping is golden brown and filling is bubbling.

This recipe yields 8 servings.
