Instructions: FILLING: combine sugar, flour, nutmeg and salt. Toss with the pears and sprinkle with the lemon juice. Roll out half of the pastry and fit into a 9" pie pan. spoon in the filling and top with the remaining crust. Seal and flute the crust. Cut vents in the top crust. Bake in a preheated 400 F oven 35 to 40 minutes or until the pears are tender.
If necessary, cover the edges of the pie with foil to prevent excess browning. cool before cutting. Email this Recipe:
