Instructions: Rinse the soaked peas add the potato onion garlic herbs and cloves and cover with cold water.
Bring to the boil put the lid on and simmer slowly for about 1 1/2 hours until tender. Drain remove the herbs and the cloves then add the butter salt and pepper and mash well. Serve hot. This is my version of the old fashioned pease pudding. It goes great with hot boiled bacon and English mustard. It is realty nice if you simmer all the ingredients in a piece of muslin in with the bacon from the beginning (qv boiled bacon with pease pudding). Serves 6 Email this Recipe:
