Instructions: Meat: Brown meat; remove meat. Add 1/2 cup fat to meat drippings. Add cabbage and onions and brown. Cover and simmer for 15 minutes, or until tender. Cool.
Dough: Soften yeast and add the rest of the other ingredients. Let rise double in bulk; punch down and let rise again. Turn out on floured board. Divide into 2 balls. Roll out to about 3/8-inch thick. Cut into squares, about 5-6 inches. Place portions of filling in center of square: bring corners of square together and pinch them closed. Turn pinched side down and place on greased cookie sheet. Let rise until double in bulk. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes. Makes about 24. Hints: Freezes great!
