Instructions: 1. In a large pot, bring 4 quarts lightly salted water to a rolling boil.
Cook the macaroni about 8 minutes, until al dente. Drain, rinse to cool and drain again. 2.Preheat oven to 400 degrees. 3. Meanwhile, in a large frying pan heat olive oil; add onion, garlic and peppers and cook over medium heat for about 4 minutes or until vegetables are soft but not brown. 4. Stir in flour and cook 1 minute more; stir in milk and bring to a boil, stirring steadily. 5. Simmer about 1 minute until thickened, stir in cheese, dill, mustard, salt, black pepper, cayenne and nutmeg to taste. 6. Stir macaroni into sauce and then spoon into a lightly greased 8X12 casserole dish. 7. Sprinkle top with toasted bread crumbs and bake 30-40 minutes or until bubbly and golden brown. NOTES : Some times I just crave Macaroni and Cheese.. and I love casseroles ! This one sounds good. Email this Recipe:
