Instructions: In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating after each addition. Beat in vanilla. Combine dry ingredients; add to creamed mixture and mix well. Spread about 2/3 of the batter in a greased 13 x 9 x 2 inch baking pan. Arrange peppermint patties over the batter. Carefully spread the remaining batter over the patties. Bake at 350 for 35-40 minutes or till edges begin to pull away from the sides of pan and a tooth- Pick inserted near the center comes out clean (top will appear uneven). Cool completely before cutting.
