Instructions: In a saucepan, combine sugar, water, vinegar and salt and bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Cool. Add a few drops of green and yellow food coloring to syrup to make an attractive green color.
In a one-quart container combine onions, mustard seed and celery seed. Pour syrup over all. Cover container and let stand over night. Add more onions to fill container. Refrigerate for 2 or 3 days before serving. Onions will keep in refrigerator for up to 3 weeks. Email this Recipe:
