Instructions: My mother says we will make a pizza out of anything. We LOVE pizza - and I think after finding this recipe for pizza dough, we LOVE homemade pizza more than any other kind. I have also used this for a breakfast pizza - substituting scrambled raw eggs for pizza sauce and topping with cheddar cheese and crumbled cooked sausage and bacon. Kids loved it. The other night I cut out small thin circles and wrapped them around saucy meatballs and shredded cheese for my own version of calzones. I hope this is what you are looking for.
Pizza Dough (from The Tightwad Gazette II) 1/2 to 2/4 cups warm water 1 package (2 1/4 teaspoons) dry yeast 1 teaspoon sugar 2 cups flour 1 tablespoon oil 1/2 teaspoon salt Combine 1/4 cup warm water with the yeast and sugar. Stir and set aside until bubbly (about 5 minutes). Put the flour, oil, and salt in food processor and process about 5 seconds (using steel "s" blade). Add yeast mixture and process until blended. Add remaining warm water by drizzling down tube a little at a time until dough forms into a ball that cleans sides of bowl. Process about 25 times around. Place dough ball on greased pan and cover with piece of plastic wrap or bowl. Let rise 10 minutes. Press into pan and top as desired. Bake at 425 degrees for 15 or 20 minutes until done.
