Instructions: Combine sugar and butter. Add the plum honey. Beat in the eggs. In another bowl combine the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, cloves and salt. Blend in the butter-sugar mixture. Form into a 3 inch roll and cover with wax paper. Place in refrigerator for 3 hours.
Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Cut dough into 1/2 inch-thick slices with a greased knife. Place the slices 2 inches apart on a greased cookie sheet. Prick holes in the cookies with a toothpick. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until brown. Note: Use real butter or stick margarine. Do not substitute reduced-fat spreads; their higher water content often yields less-satisfactory results.
