1/2 lb cod fillets thawed if necessary
1 qt water
1/4 cup lemon juice
1 sm onion sliced
1 x bay leaf
4 x peppercorns
4 whl cloves
1 tsp salt
Minced fresh parsley

1/4 cup butter
Instructions:
Instructions: Cut cod into serving-size pieces. Combine water, lemon juice, onion and seasonings. Bring to boil; simmer 20 minutes. Add cod. (If necessary, add boiling water to cover cod.) Simmer, covered, 5 to 10 minutes or until cod flakes easily when tested with a fork.

Remove cod to platter. Pour Lemon Butter Sauce over cod; garnish with parsley.

Lemon Butter Sauce: Melt butter; add lemon juice. Serve warm. (

Makes about 1/3 cup)

This recipe yields 4 to 6 servings. Recipe may be halved.
