6 lrg peaches
300 ml water
150 ml orange juice
Instructions:
Instructions: Put the water orange juice and sugar in a saucepan.

Stand the pan over a medium heat to dissolve the sugar.

Peel quarter and stone the peaches and add them to the sugar syrup.

Bring to the boil cover and place in the simmering oven.

Poach the fruit.

The length of time depends upon the ripeness of the fruit anything from 1/4 to 3/4 hour.

Remove the fruit to a serving dish bring the juice to the boil and boil until thickened and syrupy.

Pour over the fruit.

Serve warm or chilled.

Poaching of peaches and nectarines brings out their flavour. Other soft fruits can be served with these peaches. Serve with almond biscuits or thick almond shortbread.
