Instructions: Preheat oven to 350 F.
Brush the pear halves with 1 tablespoon of the time juice. Place the pear halves cut side down in a shallow glass baking pan and set aside. In a 2-quart saucepan, combine the remaining lime juice, the cranberries, and apple juice and cook on medium heat until the cranberries pop and the sauce thickens slightly. Stir in the honey, cinnamon, and cloves until well blended. Pour the sauce over the pears and bake, uncovered, for 30 to 40 minutes. (Pears should be tender but still hold their shape.) With a sharp knife, cut slits in the wider end of each baked pear half (do not cut through the top). Gently spread the slits apart to form a fan. Spread 1 tablespoon of the sauce in the well of each dessert plate and carefully place 1 pear fan on top of the sauce. Place 1 cinnamon stick and 1 mint leaf in the top to create a "stem." Serve warm or chilled. YIELD: 8 SERVINGS THE LOVELANDER BED & BREAKFAST INN Email this Recipe:
