Ingredients:

750 gm Conference pears, peeled, halved and cored (1 1/2lb)
150 ml White wine, (1/4 pint)
2 tbl Caster sugar
50 gm Butter, (2oz)
75 gm Soft dark brown sugar, (3oz)
2 tbl Golden syrup
142 ml Double cream, (5 floz)
Instructions:
Instructions: Place the wine and sugar in a saucepan and stir until dissolved. Add the pears, cover and simmer gently for 15 minutes, turning occasionally, until tender. Remove from the pan and allow to cool.

Meanwhile, melt the butter, brown sugar and syrup in a saucepan, stirring occasionally. Boil for 2-3 minutes, then stir in the cream. Serve the sauce hot or cold with the pears.

NOTES : A delicious quick & easy dessert with the classic combination of pears & butterscotch, a perfect end to a special meal.
