Instructions: Combine egg and water with potatoes and mix well.
Combine flour, powdered milk, salt and pepper. Stir into potato mixture, knead lightly. Roll pastry between two pieces of clear plastic wrap to required size (base and cover) then remove plastic. Line pie plate and pour in desired, pre-cooked filling. Cover with remaining pastry, prick and glaze with milk. Bake at 200C (400F) for 20 - 30 minutes. Note: If using very moist filling, pre-cook pie shell for 15 minutes. (Mashed potato: potatoes must be steamed, and then mashed without adding any liquid or butter during the mashing.) (I have only used this for savoury pies, so far.) Makes enough to line and cover 20cm (8") to 23cm (9") pie plate. Email this Recipe:
