Instructions: Peel and finely slice onions. Slice onions and mushrooms.
Rub an ovenproof dish liberally with the garlic clove and butter. Put in a layer of sliced potatoes, salt, pepper, cheese, parsley, onion. Repeat with a layer of mushrooms. Continue to fill dish with potato/mushroom layers, finishing with a layer of potatoes and cheese. Dot with butter, pour over cream Bake in oven 175C/350F for 1-1 1/2 hours until potatoes are tender.
