Instructions: Preheat the oven to 200 degrees C/400 degrees F/gas mark 6.
Roll the pastry into a rectangle so that it is about as thick as a $1 coin. Cut out 12 star shapes or discs about 8cm from point to point. Place them carefully on a lightly oiled baking sheet and put them in the fridge for 20 minutes. Brush the pastries lightly with beaten egg (or you can use vegetable oil if you prefer) then put the baking sheet in the oven and bake until golden about 10-12 minutes. Leave to cool briefly then carefully slice each one in half horizontally with a bread knife taking care not to shatter the pastry. Add about a tablespoon of mincemeat to each bottom half then place the tops on. Dust with icing sugar and serve with cream. Makes 12 Email this Recipe:
