Instructions: Pork: Season the meat with salt and pepper. Brown the meat on all sides in the oil. Transfer the meat, onions, root beer and garlic to a 4 quart electric crockery cooker. Cover and cook on high for 4 to 5 hours, or on low for 8 to 10 hours.
Sauce: In a medium sauce pan, bring the root beer and chili sauce to a boil. Reduce the heat and simmer, stirring occasionally, until reduced by half - about 30 minutes. Add the concentrate and Tabasco. Serving: Transfer the meat to a cutting board. Using a slotted spoon, transfer the onions to a serving platter. Discard the juices. Using two forks, pull the meat apart into shreds. Line the buns with lettuce and tomato. Add the meat and onions. Spoon the sauce over, top with the bun top and serve. Email this Recipe:
