Instructions: Blend oil and sugar; stir in beaten eggs, pumpkin. Add dry ingredients. Stir in nuts and dates. Pour batter into greased and floured No. 2 coffee cans. Place can in crock-pot, cover can with 6 or 8 paper towels. Place lid on top. Bake on high 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 hours. No peeking until last hour.
