Instructions: Filling: Blend ingredients together and set aside.

Cookies: Mix and sift together flour, salt & baking soda. Combine sugar, shortening, egg and molasses; mix well. Add dry ingredients to molasses mixture. Add oats. Chill 30 minutes. Roll out 1/8 inch thick; place 1 tbs filling on 1 cookie and cover with a second cookie. Press together and slit top. Bake at 375 for 15 minutes.
