Instructions: Mix vinegar and soda; let stand. Cream sugar and shortening. Add the eggs, mix well. Add cocoa, food coloring, then add buttermilk, salt and flour.

Last add vinegar and soda mixture. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 minutes.

Frosting:
Mix together the milk and flour and cook till thick. Cool! Be sure it is cold before adding to rest of mixture. Cream the butter and sugar together. Whip together till fluffy like whipped cream. Either layer or loaf pan.
