1/2 cup yellow cornmeal
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp cream of tartar
salt, to taste
2 cup buttermilk
1 x egg, beaten
2 tbl molasses
Instructions:
Instructions: Sift cornmeal, sugar, baking soda, cream of tartar, and salt together in mixing bowl. Combine buttermilk, egg, molasses, and butter and pour into the well made in the dry ingredients. Mix until a smooth batter forms. Lightly grease the griddle w/softened butter. Pour mixture on griddle in 1/3 cup quantities. Cook on one side for 2.5 minutes, flip and cook for 2.5 minutes longer.
