Instructions: Wash the rice. Let sit in water for half an hour. Bring to a boil, then simmer for 15 minutes. Remove from heat and let sit, covered, for another 15 minutes.
Slice the mushrooms. Shred the carrots. When the rice is done, mix in the vegetables. Add dashi, soy sauce, sugar and sake. Stir in, and cook until the flavors are well blended. Serve hot. This recipe yields 4 servings. Email this Recipe:
