Instructions: Cook apples in water until tender. Drain. Add brown sugar and salt. Combine flour and cream and stir until a smooth paste. Add to apple mixture. Cook until mixture thickens, stirring constantly. Sprinkle with cinnamon.
Note: I add 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon with the brown sugar and then top the dessert with more cinnamon before serving. NOTES : Jay Says: Ive eaten the apple side dishes at Cracker Barrel many times, and this is similar. We like it better because of the cream. Email this Recipe:
