Ingredients:

2 clv garlic
2 tbl butter
4 cup thinly sliced potatoes
1 cup grated Cheddar cheese
1/2 cup hot milk
1 tsp salt
Instructions:
Instructions: Thoroughly grease a 2 quart casserole using 1 Tbsp of butter. Place halved garlic cloves in bottom of casserole. Spread half of the potatoes in the dish. Cover with half of cheese. Add remaining potatoes; top with remaining cheese. Mix hot milk, salt and pepper; pour over potatoes. Dot with remaining butter. Bake in preheated oven at 375F for 60 minutes or until tender.

Reduce heat; add more milk if potatoes seem dry before they are tender.
