Cream butter and sugar together. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Add vanilla. Sift dry ingredients together; add to creamed mixture alternately with buttermilk. Add bananas and mix well. Place in three pans (7 1/4x11). Bake at 325 degrees for 30 minutes. Icing: Mix together and spread on hot baked mixture. Bake for 7 minutes. Cut in squares.
