1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup bread flour
2 tsp salt
2 tbl sugar
2 tbl baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 stk unsalted butter
1/2 cup vegetable shortening (not butter flavored)
2 cup buttermilk
Instructions:
Instructions: Mix dry ingredients together well. Cut in shortening and butter until crumbly. Blend in buttermilk and whipping cream.

Grease a LARGE cast iron skillet with clarified butter. Press dough into skillet, brush the top with clarified butter, and bake the bread for about 12 to 17 minutes at 400, or until golden brown. When done, brush a little more butter on top.

This recipe has been in Rubens family for over 80 years.
