Instructions: Pour the ingredients, one at a time in the order given, into a wide-mouth clear glass quart jar.

Seal with two-part lid covered with a circle of lace about 1 inch bigger in diameter than the jar. Tie 1/2-inch-wide ribbon around the ring of the jar lid. Attach the following baking directions to the jar:

To prepare: Sift mixture into colander to catch chocolate chips and nuts. Blend 1 cup margarine with dry ingredients. Add 1 egg and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Stir in chocolate chips and nuts. Drop onto greased baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 minutes.

Makes about 3 dozen.
