Instructions: Drain and rinse sauerkraut. Set aside. Saute onion slices in butter in a saucepan. Meanwhile, quarter and core the apple. Cut into thin slices.
Add to the onion slices and saute 1 - 2 minutes more. Add drained sauerkraut and brown sugar, gently mixing with a wooden spoon. Place in a 1 1/2-qt. casserole, cover and bake 20 - 30 minutes. Note: Sometimes, I braise pork chops until browned then place them on top of the sauerkraut and bake until pork is tender. Yummy and it doesnt stink up the house. Email this Recipe:
