Instructions: Cut the beef into slender matchstick-sized pieces. Combine beef and Seasoning Mixture; use a light hand when mixing to keep the shredded beef from forming clumps. Sprinkle with the pine nuts. Place in mound on serving dish. Make a depression on top and slide the egg yolk into it.
Peel and core pear. Slice thinly, dip in salt water, then drain. Place on serving dish next to the beef. The egg yolk is mixed into the meat before eating. This recipe yields 4 servings. Comments: Pears are often combined with raw meat in Korean cooking. The Oriental pear is round and crisp, halfway between American apple and pear in taste and texture.
