1 lrg onion, thinly sliced
1 lb fresh mushrooms, sliced
2 tbl butter or margarine
2 tbl flour
4 cup beef broth
3/4 cup sherry
6 slc French bread, toasted
Instructions:
Instructions: In a quart saucepan, cook onion and mushrooms in butter until onions are soft. Stir in flour. Cook, stirring for 1-2 minutes.

Add the broth. Simmer, covered for 10 minutes, Stir in sherry.

Preheat
broiler. Place the toasted bread on a baking sheet and sprinkle with cheese.

Broil until cheese is melted. Divide soup evenly into 6 serving bowls. Float a piece of cheese toast in each bowl.
