Instructions: I served them with no-egg noodles and a stir fry of bok choy, carrot, mushroom, red onion, garlic, cilantro and thyme.
Sauce was pasta water, veggie bouillon and about 2 tablespoons of annies vegetarian mushroom-ginger sauce. well, i should have made a chipotle sauce because the burgers are smoked. still it was a great meal. The product is a meat substitute and smokey - so that limits its versatility. I plan on crumbling some in a lentil soup, spiked with chopped spinach and served on spaghetti (i think that was Kristans idea... thanks) and it might go crumbled on a foccacio (sw style). In a multi bean soup. And as a burger (sandwich) - maybe on rye so it competes with the smokiness. Bob likes it far better than seitan or tempeh. cooking: we tried the foreman. preheated. the frozen patties cooked in 430" - They werent heated in the middle at our first guess: 4 mins Box says open grill pan takes 7 mins. Or heat for 3 in the microwave 100g or 3.5 oz pattie NOTES : Sams sells mushroom burgers [I should have said that the burgers are shiitake and tempeh - combined! so there is more texture.] A winner! We tried them tonight and were nicely surprised. good things! they remind me of ground turkey burgers in taste, chew, and dryness. Email this Recipe:
