Ingredients:

2 cup flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1/4 tsp salt
4 tbl margarine
2 x eggs, beaten
2 cup molasses
1/2 cup hot water, not boiling
2 tsp baking soda
Instructions:
Instructions: Mix together the first 4 ingredients till crumbly. Take out 2 cup of crumbs for top of pies. To remainder of crumbs add the eggs, molasses and water. Mix well. Dissolve baking soda in the hot water and add to mixture.

Pour into 2 unbaked pie shells and top with reserved crumbs. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 375 degrees and bake for 30 minutes or until top is dry and done.

Instead of molasses you can use: 1 1/2 cups dark Karo syrup, 1/2 cup light Karo syrup, 2 teaspoons vanilla and 1/4 teaspoon maple flavoring.
