Yield:
4
Ingredients:
Amount Ingredient
12 oz Belgian white beer
(or pilsner beer)
1 tbl grated fresh ginger
2 tsp Dijon mustard
1/2 tsp freshly-ground black pepper
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 lb peeled and deveined shrimp uncooked
(large or 16 to 20 per lb size)
Instructions:
Instructions: In large bowl, whisk together all ingredients except shrimp. Stir in shrimp to coat. Cover and refrigerate at least 2 hours or overnight.

Heat grill. Thread shrimp onto 4 (10- to 12-inch) metal skewers. Place on gas grill over medium heat or on charcoal grill 4 to 6 inches from medium coals. Cook 5 minutes or until shrimp turn pink, brushing occasionally with marinade and turning once.

This recipe yields 4 servings.

Serving Ideas: Salty French fries and malt vinegar.

Comments: Belgian white beer is lightly scented with orange rind and spices, a good match for the shrimp. But you can substitute any beer. Marinating overnight infuses the flavors more deeply. This dish is easily doubled or tripled.
