Instructions: Stir over medium heat until it reaches a rolling boil. Boil for 6 minutes, timing from rolling boil. Stir constantly. Remove from heat and stir in :
2 12-oz. bags chocolate bits ( 4 cups ) 1/2 to 3/4 cup butter (must be real butter) 2 3 squares unsweetened chocolate, chopped or broken up into bits 2 cups chopped walnuts or pecans, if desired. Stir until chocolate is melted and butter is absorbed. (I usually use 1/2 cup plus 2 tbs. butter). Its good to have these ingredients prepared and in a bowl, ready to pour into the pan. You can wait until everything is melted and smooth to add the nuts I find that best, because then I know there will be no surprises. Pour into a buttered jelly roll pan or several smaller pans & let set until firm. Makes 5 - 6 pounds. Email this Recipe:
