Instructions: Crust:
Melt butter: mix with crushed crumbs and other ingredients. Reserve 1/4 cup for garnish. Put remainder on bottom and sides of a 9-inch spring-form pan. Chill. Filling: In a saucepan, combine 3/4 cup sugar, gelatin and salt. Stir in cottage cheese, lemon juice, and vanilla: chill. Stir occasionally until mixture mounds. Beat egg whites to soft peaks. Gradually add 1/4 cup sugar; beat to a stiff peak. Fold into gelatin mixture. Fold in whipped cream. Pour into chilled crust. Sprinkle with remaining crumbs. Chill overnight. Serves 8 people.
