2 cup	cornmeal
1 tbl	all-purpose flour
1 tsp	soda
1 tsp	baking powder
2 tsp	salt
1 cup	buttermilk
1 x	Egg, slightly beaten
2 tbl	finely chopped onion

Instructions:

Instructions: Combine dry ingredients; add buttermilk, egg and onion, stirring well.

Carefully drop batter by tablespoonfuls into deep hot oil; cook only a few at a time, turning once.

Fry until hush puppies are golden brown (3 to 5 minutes).

Drain well on absorbent towels.

Yield: 2 1/2 dozen
