Instructions: Combine first 4 ingredients in a heavy saucepan over high heat. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat to medium, cover and simmer about 20 minutes, or until apples are tender. Uncover and cook 10 minutes longer, stirring frequently, until mixture thickens.
Mash with a potato masher until chunky applesauce forms. Stir in sugar and spices. Transfer to a bowl, cover and chill overnight. Email this Recipe:
