Ingredients:

1/4 cup golden brown sugar packed
1/2 cup cranberry juice
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp ground allspice
2 x 12-ounce packages cranberries
2 x oranges peel and white pith removed, segmented
1 x Granny Smith apple peeled, cored, coarsely chopped
1/2 cup dried currants
1/2 cup dried apricots
Instructions:
Instructions: Combine first 5 ingredients in heavy large saucepan. Stir over medium heat until sugar dissolves. Increase heat; bring to boil. Stir in all remaining ingredients; bring to boil. Reduce heat and simmer until mixture is thick, stirring occasionally, about 40 minutes. Cool completely. (Can be made 3 days ahead. Cover; chill.)

Made November 1999. Used apple juice instead of cranberry juice. I suspect that the somewhat bland flavor resulted. Quite good with mincemeat flavors.

Yield: 5 cups
