Instructions: Bring the lentils to the boil in 750ml water and simmer until soft but whole.
Reserve. Have all the other ingredients to hand. Heat the oil in a separate pan and drop in all the ingredients except the salt and sugar one after the other. Fry for a minute until the spices crackle. Pour the whole lot over the cooked dal add the salt and sugar and blend well. Serve hot with rotis or rice and a meat curry. Serves 4 Email this Recipe:
