1 tbl vegetable oil
1/2 lb skinless boneless chicken breasts cut 1" pieces
4 lrg carrots thinly sliced
4 x green onions with green portion sliced
3 x celery stalks sliced
1 cup reduced-sodium chicken broth
1 tbl sugar
1/3 cup reduced-sodium soy sauce
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
1/4 tsp ground ginger
1 x garlic clove minced
8 oz bean sprouts
1 can water chestnuts - (8 oz)
1/4 cup cornstarch
Instructions:
Instructions: Heat oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken pieces and cook until brown. Put in a 3 1/2- to 4-quart slow cooker. Add remaining ingredients, except cornstarch and water; stir to combine. Cover; cook on LOW setting 6 to 8 hours.

Turn cooker to HIGH. In a small bowl, stir cornstarch into cold water until dissolved. Stir into liquid in cooker. Place cover slightly ajar. Cook until thickened 15 to 30 minutes.

Serve with chow mein noodles or rice. May be doubled for 5-quart models.
