8 x skinless boneless chicken breast halves
3/4 cup flour
1 tsp chili powder - (to 1 1/2)
3/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp ground cumin
1/4 tsp freshly-ground black pepper
1 x egg beaten
1/2 cup water
Vegetable Oil
----------------- TOMATO-GARLIC DIP ----------------
1 can tomato paste - (6 oz)
1/3 cup mayonnaise
1/4 cup sour cream
1/4 cup tomato sauce
2 x garlic cloves minced
1/4 tsp ground cumin
1/4 tsp chili powder
Instructions:
Instructions: Cut chicken into long, thin strips about 3/4-inch wide. Combine flour and next 5 ingredients well. Stir in egg and water. Dip chicken in batter. Fry a few at a time in 375 degree oil until golden. Drain. Serve with Tomato-Garlic Dip.

Tomato-Garlic Dip: Combine ingredients well. Serve in a hollowed out cabbage bowl. Serve with assorted crackers.

This recipe yields 16 appetizer servings.
