Instructions: Wash and dry okra. Cut off tips but leave stem end intact. Cut okra lengthwise just to but not through stem end. Combine turmeric, curry powder, cayenne, and salt. Mix lemon juice with garlic and stir into spice mixture to make a thick paste. Spread paste on cut sides of okra, then press together to close. Fry okras in oil over moderate heat until lightly browned.
