2 lb yellow squash -- fresh or frozen
1/4 cup butter or margarine
5 x green onions, bulbs & tops -- chopped
1/2 cup chopped celery
2 slc (1") French bread -- torn in pieces
1/2 cup milk
2 tsp sugar
2 tbl butter
Instructions:
Instructions: Boil squash in lightly salted water. Drain. Melt butter in large saucepan, add chopped onion bulbs, celery, and 1/2 the onion tops. Saute until tender. Soak bread in milk, gently squeeze out excess milk. Add bread, squash, sugar, and remaining 1/2 of onion tops. Blend well. Pour into 7 x 11-inch baking dish. Dot top with butter. Sprinkle with breadcrumbs. Bake in preheated 350-degree oven 15 to 20 minutes until crumbs are brown.

Makes 6 servings.
