2 lb beef stew meat cubed
1 can tiny peas - (15 oz)
1 cup sliced carrots
2 cup chopped onions
1 tsp salt
1 dsh freshly-ground black pepper
1 can cream of tomato soup or celery
or mushroom soup
1/2 x soup can water
1 lrg raw potato sliced
Instructions:
Instructions: Combine meat, peas, carrots, onions, salt, pepper, soup, water, potato and bay leaf in a casserole dish that has a tight lid. Put the lid on and put the casserole in a 275 degree oven. Now go back to bed. It will cook happily all by itself and be done in 5 hours.

This recipe yields 5 to 6 servings.

Comments:
This recipe calls for cooking the meat at only 275 degrees. However the USDA Meat and Poultry Hotline advises that all meat must be cooked at a temperature of at least 325 degrees to avoid the risk of food poisoning. The meat will be done in about 3 hours at 325 degrees.
