Instructions: Chop suet finely and mix with flour, cinnamom, ginger and baking powder.
Make a well in the center, stir in the lightly warmed treacle and egg, then gradually add milk, beating all together. Pour mixture into a well buttered 1.25 litre pudding basin, cover tightly with lid or foil. Steam at a steady heat for 2 1/2 hours. When ready, turn out and serve with vanilla sauce and cream.
