Ingredients:
Amount Ingredient
2 lb lean beef
2 tbl olive oil - (to 3 tbspns)
2 x garlic cloves crushed
2 x bay leaves
1 tbl wine vinegar
4 oz good-quality red wine
Salt to taste
Freshly-ground black pepper to taste
Water as needed
2 can boiled small white onions - (12 oz ea)
Instructions:
Instructions: Saute the beef in olive oil. Add garlic, bay leaves, wine vinegar, wine and salt and pepper. Add enough water to cover. Cover and simmer for 1 1/2 to 2 hours, add more water, if necessary. When stew is ready to serve, add the onions and heat thoroughly. Serve over rice.

This recipe yields 4 to 6 servings.
