Instructions: In large saucepan or Dutch oven, brown meat well in shortening.
Add water and next 4 ingredients. Cover; simmer 45 minutes or until meat is almost tender, stirring occasionally. Add potatoes, carrots and onions. Cover; simmer 30 minutes or until vegetables are tender. Stir in ketchup, wine and peas. Cover; simmer 20 minutes longer. Thicken sauce with flour/water mixture, if desired. Makes 8 - 10 servings.
