8 oz beef steak, cut into small, thin slices, about 1 inch square
1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
1 tsp sugar
1 tbl fish sauce
2 tbl vegetable oil
1 x clove garlic, chopped
1 sm onion, sliced
1 x green bell pepper, cut into cubes
4 oz sliced bamboo shoots, drained
1 x firm tomato, cut into 8 wedges
2 x green onions, cut into short lengths
2 tbl soy or oyster sauce
Instructions:
Instructions: Mix beef with black pepper, sugar and fish sauce and marinate 15 - 20 minutes. Heat oil in a wok or frying pan over high heat and stir-fry garlic and onion about 1 minute. Add the beef and stir-fry 1 minute.

Add the bell pepper, bamboo shoots, tomato and green onions. Stir-fry 2 - 3 minutes, then blend in the soy or oyster sauce. Mix the cornstarch with 1 tablespoon water and stir into mixture. Cook, stirring, until thickened. Serve with rice noodles.
